Web Sheriff does such a good job. A couple of hours ago, we posted the new Vampire Weekend video on the Blog and this guy made it unavailable in a heartbeat! But who is Web Sheriff?
This British company has been patrolling the web 24/7 against infringements of intellectual rights and reputations for two years now. “The internet has irrevocably changed the way we live … both in terms of work and in terms of entertainment. One of the results of this is that piracy and other legal problems that, once-upon-a-time, were localised and containable in nature have now been globalised by the net.” says the Sheriff on his web page.
At the head of this oranization, John Giacobbi povides pre-release protection and digital rights management to media organisations, newspapers, broadcasters, film companies, record companies, artists and celebrities. I invite you guys to check out his trophy gallery.
Due to January the 15th, Vampire Weekend’s new record is going to give the Sheriff a lot of work. We’d better watch out: the Sheriff who is among many others, Prince’s legal representative, had requested the removal of around 2,000 illegally uploaded videos from YouTube.
